How to come to Lonavala

Landing at Mumbai Airport, hire a Taxi for Lonavala or get a flight again for Pune, and after landing at Pune hire a Taxi for Lonavala. Taxi can be arranged to receive at airport by the organiser of the course on demand and actual payment of the fare. Reaching Lonavala takes around Three hours from Mumbai Airport and one and half hour from Pune Airport.

Lonavala is an unofficial Hill station situated on the foot hills of Sahyadri and located at 130 Kms from Mumbai and 65 Kms from Pune. Having scenic beauty and hilly area, the greenery of Lonavala has its own attraction specially during rainy season. Round the year Lonavala has very balanced climate which is neither too hot nor too cold.

Prof G S Sahay

The course will be conducted at Lonavala ( Pune , Maharashtra, India) under the guidance of Shri G. S. Sahay. Shri Sahay has the experience of working in Kaivalyadhama, a world renowned yoga Institute, located at Lonavala for 40 years. He worked in the Institute as Head of the Department of Philosophical Research, Professor of Hathayoga, Indian Philosophy and Religion and Patanjala Yogasutra. He also worked as Managing Editor of Research Quarterly ‘YOGA MIMAMSA’. Besides several books written in collaboration, his independent book ‘Commentary on HathaYoga Pradipika’ has been published in English ( 2013) and Chinese (2012). The book is in the process of being translated in Italian and Japanese. The second edition of Hathayogapradipika is also published in the month of October 2016.

After retirement, Shri Sahay opened an Institute named ‘YOGIC HERITAGE’ devoted to the imparting of traditional knowledge of Yoga encompassing its various aspects. The institute has been recognised as RYS under Yoga Alliance, USA for 200 Hours certificate.
Shri Sahay conducts these class in his house and only two students are admitted at a time for 200 hours certificate course. Students get an opportunity to live with the teacher where wife of the teacher cooks the food and serves it with all kindness. Living with Indian Yogic family will also be an additional experience. Students are treated as students only when they are in the class otherwise they are treated as guests & friends
